The Ethics of Self-Care; A Wholehearted Approach
The Daring Way™ curricula are highly experiential methodologies based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. We will explore the ethics of self-care, as well as the topics of vulnerability, courage, shame, worthiness, and authenticity. We examine the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are holding us back as we identify and practice self-care and expressive arts techniques that will move us toward more authentic and wholehearted living in personal and professional life.
We will review published research on self-care as an ethical necessity in the helping professions, as well as identify the signs, symptoms and impact of burnout among helping professionals. During this 11-hour program (NBCC Approval No. SP-4279. NASW approves of NBCC CE's), the presenter will utilize lecture and experiential exercises to support the learning objectives.
Permission is granted for participants to teach the concepts with clients in individual, one-on-one psychotherapy sessions as part of psycho-educational treatment. The concepts may be applied in the Helping Professionals’ own personal and professional life as well as the lives of their clients.
Use of Program Materials Is Limited- Only professionals certified in The Daring Way™ are authorized to facilitate this work in groups for training purposes. This 8-hour CE program does not endorse participant as a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator. If interested in facilitator training, please see www.thedaringway.com.
